Monday March 10
Time for a Nap
They say 'a change is as good as a rest'. Yet, even though it's National Napping Day (and who doesn't like a snooze?!) the last thing we want is to be too relaxed to take advantage of the upcoming cosmic invitations. In the approach to the Lunar Eclipse, opportunities are heading our way. It's easy, in a world filled with street lights, electronic devices, and more information than we can deal with, to underestimate primeval power sources. But if you sincerely seek change now, you can attain it.

Penicillin
Alexander Fleming (who died on this day back in 1955) was a true life-changer. On his return from vacation, when visiting his London laboratory, he spotted an area of fungus on a petri dish. Surprise! The dish, which was growing bacteria, was bacteria-free where the fungus was situated. And that was how he discovered penicillin! It goes to show that sometimes, when we're not totally focusing our attention on something, the cosmos presents us with unanticipated new possibilities. Expect some of those today.

Coca-Cola Fountain
When Coke was first invented, it was only available as a fountain drink. Today, back in 1894, it was made available in bottles. Think of the significance of that decision! If someone hadn't had the creative idea, and the 'bottle' to see it through, it's hard to imagine it being such a global success. With the Sun making a conjunction with Saturn, The Cosmic Teacher, in Pisces today, it's time to make progress on long-term projects. Watch out for thoughts bubbling in the back of your mind. And act on them!

William Herschel
When William Herschel spotted Uranus back in 1781, it must have made life interesting for astrologers! He thought it was a comet; it was only after observing it closely that he identified it as a planet, which he wanted to name after the King. But astronomers chose to continue the tradition of using mythological figures. The phases of the Moon, in contrast, have always been visible. In the approach of the Lunar Eclipse, and the Sun's link with Uranus, distant ideas can have important consequences.

Friday March 14
Lunar Eclipse
The Moon governs our emotions. As it waxes and wanes, our deepest feelings intensify or diminish; they rise and fall like the tides. During a Lunar Eclipse (which we're experiencing this weekend) the Earth's shadow acts like a veil, obscuring our view of the silvery orb. This celestial spectacle offers a chance to reflect on what excites and energises us... and what doesn't. As we move towards the Solar Eclipse (at the end of March), we can work with our emotions and discern what brings us joy.

Saturday March 15
Your Weekly Horoscope
This week brings the Equinox, a deeply powerful time. The ancient Mayans knew this; they built a pyramid that catches the sunlight so that on the day of equal darkness and light a serpent appears to move down the steps of the great edifice - a sign of heaven's power coming to earth! The nights and days of equal length remind us that a healthy balance of light and dark is essential in every life. We've had too much shade and shadow lately. It's time for hearts and hopes to start shining.
