Discombobulation
With Mercury, the planet of communication, preparing to turn retrograde, we're moving into a season of retrospection; expect opportunities to approach challenging issues and gain new insight. But this process can be discombobulating too. And with creative Venus making a tricky link to Jupiter, we're extra sensitive to wonkiness. Yet discovering gremlins can be advantageous. Today, by recognising that things aren't right, we can take steps towards working out what is.

Sympathy
I've got a lot of sympathy for young people growing up in the social media era. I'm grateful that my past misdemeanours and teenage silliness have disappeared into the mists of time! These days, as we mature, or change our views, we can never be sure that an old tweet or iPhone video won't resurface or be taken out of context. Today, as Mercury, planet of communication, turns retrograde, we get to fix some mistakes. The lessons we learn can be so positive we might no longer regret making them.

Star Trek
The filming of Star Trek's pilot episode began 60 years ago today. It never aired. Creator Gene Roddenberry claimed the network asked for rewrites; they thought the show was 'too cerebral'. And they didn't like the second-in-command being female. Although changes were instigated to ensure the show was launched, once it was a success Gene ensured the storylines confronted fears and prejudices. Today, as responsible Saturn and innovative Uranus align, it's boundary-breaking time.

Thanksgiving
This year, Thanksgiving, the national holiday in the US, falls on Red Planet Day, when all things Mars are celebrated. Since Mars can represent anger and competitiveness, how does it work with the traditional themes of kindness and gratitude? Actually, even though family gatherings are great, they can make us hot under the collar! As Mars slows to turn retrograde while harmonising with the Sun, it's by honouring our true feelings that we can find ways to share warmth and generosity.

Friday November 29
Black Friday
It's Black Friday, an American sales tradition which has been adopted throughout the western world. And at this weekend's New Moon, as Mercury (ideas) connects to generous Jupiter, we can expect to be inundated by all sorts of exciting offers. Yet these planets are both retrograde. So caution is required; deals might well be too good to be true. But we don't want to look gift horses in the mouth! As long as we're realistic, worthy bargains can be struck without the fear of any buyer's remorse.

Your December Monthly Horoscope
Traditionally, Blue Moons are Full Moons. So, can we call December's two New Moons blue? If we can't see something, who's to say what colour it is?! No matter their hue, these Moons are special; they empower us to make emotionally satisfying changes. Aided by power planet, Mars, which turns retrograde this month, we can find creative ways to work with past experiences. And with lucky Jupiter and resilient Saturn aligning at the Solstice, new frameworks of beliefs can carry us towards 2025 with hope.
