PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY June 6 2011 to June 12 2011 Monday June 6 Crystal Tips Dear Jonathan, Recently bio-physicists have extracted DNA samples and noted an abundance of light activity within the double helix structure of molecules that comprise each strand (called 'bio- electric signalling'). DNA has intelligence and has been used to solve mathematical problems. It has already proven to be a powerful data storage medium. Now scientists are starting to wonder if our genetic material could also dream. DNA may behave as a liquid crystal or turn into a solid crystal if dehydrated. All crystals are capable of refracting light to create rainbows and imagery. Crispin Dear Crispin, Well, fancy that! Tuesday June 7 Memory Loss Dear Jonathan... Someone wrote in suggesting that you had predicted that Bin Laden would never get caught. The writer is incorrect. I distinctly remember an odd prediction that you made around the end of 2009 indicating that Bin Laden's location would be discovered around Sept or Oct 2010. You may wish to check your archives. I know I could look it up but, meanwhile, I'm mildly amused by how different people's memories appear to be. Wednesday June 8 Carpe Descartesium Dear Jonathan, What if what I see as red others see as blue or green? If I think something is wonderful and you think it is terrible what is creating that difference? We are creating our own realities. Is that dreaming? Thursday June 9 Flare Scare Last week, while talking at the Sunrise Festival in England, a young man asked me about a comet called Elenin. This, he said, was soon going to come very close to the Sun and its appearance coincided with recent earthquakes. I had to confess I'd never heard of it. I have now checked it out. He's right. It's real... but it is one of many minor and very common comets! There's a remote chance it may brighten in the coming months and no chance at all of it being responsible for seismic activity. It's another internet scare story. Friday June 10 The Average of Aquarius Jonathan, I've heard about the Age of Aquarius since I was a child. People are still expecting it. What's behind these zodiac ages? Why do they go backwards through the signs? When will the new age dawn? What does it mean to us average folks? Carolyn Dear Carolyn, 'Average folks'? The emerging Age of Aquarius heralds a long prophesied era when people no longer conform to a norm and we all appreciate how every life is sacred and unique, no matter different it is to our own.
