Have Ano Virgo
|
Dear Jonathan,
I have heard that Virgo men are the most difficult in the zodiac, being unwilling to commit, while appearing sensitive, loving and shy. They leave their admirers screaming with frustration because they take so long to make up their minds! What's your advice? Valerie
Dear Valerie,
I may have met one or two Virgo chaps who are a bit like this (and from the sound of it, you certainly have), but I know plenty more who aren't. To me, such sweeping statements cross the line between character analysis and character assassination. My advice? Try another Virgo man!

Open to Change
|
Hi Jonathan,
I have always been able to 'tune into' what people are feeling, but find I am more able to do this at times when I am more open emotionally. Is this usual? Pam
Dear Pam,
It is. In fact, if you're not emotionally open, it's impossible!
Dear Jonathan,
I notice the Saturn-Uranus opposition began on the day of Barack Obama's election. The opposition has now ended. What does that mean for his presidency? Kelly
Dear Kelly,
Probably, it means that America is now actually ready to embrace and support the change that he promised to deliver.

The Moon Clocks Off
|
No matter how long I stare at the sky I never fail to be amazed by the Moon. What a brilliant piece of design. In its own way, a tiny ball of rock. But, because it is so near us, it looks from here like it is exactly the same size as the Sun. The way its phases mark the passage of the days and the months is surely the work of a master clockmaker. Once every 28 days or so no moon can be seen in the sky. We are in the Dark Of The Moon right now.

Heart of the Matter
|
Hello Jonathan,
Your recent reading for my sign mentioned listening to your heart and not your head. How do you tell the difference? Camilla
Dear Camilla,
A big question. I wonder if I can do it justice in 60 words or so? Or rather, my head wonders that. Hearts don't wonder. Nor do they care about numbers, explanations or justifications. I don't imagine they care much either, about passion, anger, need, fear or sorrow. I even suspect 'romance' is more for the head than the heart. Every human heart only ever wants to feel and express one thing. Kindness.

Friday August 13
Friday the 13th
|
It's Friday the 13th. I've referred to this in every prediction today, not because it means anything in astrology... but because a lot of people suspect that it might. As I have pointed out in the Gemini forecast, some might also consider astrology a superstition... but it is, at least, based on a truly universal set of signs and signals, not some arbitrary, artificial calendar. The planets don't know that this is August. Or that it's Friday. But they definitely seem keen to shower us all with inspiration and hope, judging by last night's amazing display of shooting stars!

Your Week Ahead
|
The big news, this week, is Jupiter's opposition to Saturn. That's a classic clash of optimism versus pessimism, levity versus gravitas, faith versus fear, hope versus hard-heartedness. Or at least, it is if you view it from Jupiter's angle. Those of a more Saturnine disposition might see it as tradition versus change, restraint versus extremism, sense versus silliness or fact versus theory. This cosmic conflict means different things to different people. But in all our lives, it symbolises the need to look at what we once took for granted and recognise the arguments for and against a new idea.
