PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY June 22 2009 to June 28 2009 Monday June 22 Brighter Sky, Brighter Future Yesterday, although we only saw glimpses and glimmers of the Sun, rising over Stonehenge it was a distinct improvement on past years, when rain and cloud hid the magic of the moment. As we watched, I spoke to some of my fellow astrologers who felt a brighter sky was, in itself, auspicious. Add this to the conjunction of Venus and Mars, the triple alignment of Jupiter Neptune and Chiron plus a New Moon... and it's clear there's plenty for us to look forward to. Tomorrow, I'll try to explain why Stonehenge means so much to Britain... and the world. Tuesday June 23 Tomorrow's Secrets Today Stonehenge, Callanish, the Pyramids, the temples of the Mayans. Why should we care who built them or that they were created with amazing precision, using methods that still defy our understanding? They were made by people whose empires failed and faded. Few people see how they are relevant to the present... or to the future. Many astrologers, though, feel these places mark points on the globe where a connection between earth and sky is so strong that at special times of year, those who know what to look for can see tomorrow, revealing glimpses of its secrets, today. Wednesday June 24 Pulling Power The Moon is not at one fixed distance from the Earth. Sometimes it is nearer to us, sometimes further away. Last night, the Moon was at Perigee. "Peri" is Greek for 'near' or 'around' (as in Periscope or Perimeter). Gee means 'Earth' (as in Geography or Geology.). So it came as close to us as it will this month. Some astrologers feel that lunar proximity has as much of an influence on us as the Moon's phases. As the Moon exerts a gravitational pull on bodies of water... and our bodies are mainly made of water... I wouldn't disagree. Thursday June 25 Sacred Site Navigation I spent the Solstice at the great Kiva in Aztec Ruins Park, New Mexico, USA. It was most uplifting. Cheryl I recently visited the Ring of Brogdar in Orkney. I started to walk within the standing stones, but felt uncomfortably as if I was being told to show more respect and walk outside the ring. Was I being oversensitive? Nobody else moved. Katie Dear Cheryl and Katie, I have yet to visit either site. In my experience, though, if you get a sense of guidance, especially in such a place, you should heed it regardless of what others do. Saturday June 27 Your Month Ahead Ladies and Gentlemen, Heroes and Heroines, your attention please. Not only is this the month that the land of the brave and the free celebrates its birthday... it's a month in a decade... or more! Up on the great stage of the sky, Saturn and Uranus have stepped back from their recent 'credit crunch inducing' opposition. Their extra-terrestrial tussle is paused, for now. They have respectfully separated to allow all influence to go to Jupiter's rare conjunction with Neptune. That's a blessing for every visionary, every poet and every truly kind and hopeful soul.
