PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY May 25 2009 to May 31 2009 Monday May 25 Abseil of the Century There's much going on in the world that deserves serious discussion. Here, in this space, there are many topics I could make more people aware of. But today, I only want to talk about Doris Long, a 95-year-old great grandmother who has just abseiled down a very tall building for charity! I don't know what sign she is and I'm almost glad I don't know. I'd hate to imply that she's only managed it because she was born on a special day. If Doris can abseil, we can all achieve the apparently impossible. Let's all remember that! It will continue to send waves of inspiration through the world for months to come, helping us all see how to turn dreams into realities. The influence involves Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune, traditional god of the sea. Like a tide, the influence will ebb and flow, slowly making it possible to conquer fear. If you're hoping that I'm right about this, so am I! On Sunday, I'm due to speak at the Sunrise Celebration festival... and I've just heard myself agree, after giving my talk, to join a firewalk. Wednesday May 27 Chiron Heals the Sole Already, the jokes are coming in. The best so far is, 'Are you getting cold feet about that firewalk?' I'm not, but I can't deny I am nervous, even though I did it once before about 13 years ago. Now I come to think of it, it must have been the last time Jupiter and Neptune formed a conjunction. That's apt. When these planets get together they inspire courage and invite us all to face our fears. This time they are aligning with Chiron, the healing asteroid. We speak of 'kicking the bucket', 'shuffling off this mortal coil'... or having 'one foot in the grave'. It's on my mind because on Sunday I'm giving a lecture about the triple conjunction and how it can help us conquer fear. I don't expect this to do me in but after my appearance, I seem to have agreed to stride barefoot over a firepit! I suppose you could say I am going to "walk my talk". This Sunday, though, I'm talking at the Sunrise Festival in Somerset, after which there's going to be a firewalk. When I was first invited to join in, the idea seemed attractive. The current cosmic climate is conducive to acts of courage. I'm sure it will be fine. I'll let you know next week how it went. Saturday May 30 Your Month Ahead We still live in tense times but they're not as tense or as troubled as they were. In June, they get easier. Venus meets Mars. Jupiter changes direction.
