Jupiter in Aquarius
Jupiter moves into a different sign today. From now until early in 2010 it will pass through Aquarius, creating great potential for growth and success for all born under this sign. It heralds a time of joy, inspiration and hope, though it could also imply a tendency for water bearers to overfill their jugs and become worn down with the weight. Generally, though, Aquarians can expect great things to happen soon. And as Aquarius governs wisdom, vision and strategy we may all yet benefit from life in a world where more people rise above petty squabbles and passing passions.

Climate Crunch
This time last year, we were all worried about climate change. It was becoming clear, even to the most sceptical amongst us, that we humans have done deep damage to our home with our wasteful ways. Millions began to aspire to a world driven less by rampant consumerism and more inspired by ecological responsiblity. Then along came the credit crunch - and suddenly, all we wanted was our wealth and security back. The changes now coming into our lives, though, are the answer to a heartfelt prayer. If we respond well to them, they will yet bring us many blessings.

Roll on Jupiter and Neptune!
Many people are still worried by all the latest tales of economic downturn. As I explained in my recent article about the opposition of Saturn and Uranus, there's change in the air all year - and, for those who draw comfort from the familiar, that seems unnerving. It should be noted, though, that also on the astrological agenda for later this year are a series of conjunctions involving Jupiter and Neptune. Whenever these two powerful planets align together, moods improve and inspiring developments arise. Famously, they lighten hearts and brighten horizons.

Watch This Space Race
2009 will, I predict, be a bumper year for art, theatre, music, dance and film. It will also be an exciting time for fans of modern technology. We'll see some amazing new gadgets and gizmos. I think we should also expect a return to what those of us old enough to remember the Sixties would call the 'space race.' I'm optimistic that despite the terrible start to the new year, a lasting truce will come to Gaza and I'm excited about the solar eclipse on January 26 which will release a lot of fresh hope into a jaded world!

Unidentified Faerie Objects
Psychologists say 'alien encounters' are the modern equivalent of pixie sightings. Some of us, they say, need to believe that strange looking beings with special powers flit mysteriously in and out of our world, visible only to a favoured few. Do they really 'need to feel this' or is it simply true? 100 years ago, many believed in faeries, few had heard of UFOs. Perhaps they are one and the same. We will hear a lot more discussion of such topics in 2009.

Your Week Ahead
This week begins with an exceptionally powerful Full Moon and ends with a conjunction of Mercury and Jupiter. We've got a lot to digest as we all get back to what passes for 'normal' these days. We've got a lot to worry about too, if we want to worry. But we don't have to worry and we don't need to. Magical possibilities are arising in the world. Positive opportunities have not been eradicated or banished. They're just hiding. Seek them out this week and your life will fill with hope and happiness.
