PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
March 22nd to March 28th 2003
SATURDAY MARCH 22
Venus follows Uranus
Times may soon become a lot less tense and a lot less troubled. As Venus
now follows Uranus into Pisces, a gentler mood should emerge in the
world.
Happy Birthday!
Aretha Franklin
(born March 25, 1942) The Queen of Soul turns 61 years young on Tuesday.
Interestingly, many wonderful female vocalists are born under the
energetic power sign of Aries, including Chaka Khan (49 tomorrow)
and Diana Ross, (59 on Wednesday). But Aretha is, was and always will
be in a class of her own.
Happy birthday also this week to: Sunday; Damon Albarn (35), Monday;
Tommy Hilfiger (52), Tuesday; Elton John (56).
MONDAY MARCH 24
Was it worth going on the protest march?
You see, Dad, said my daughter Minnie, I told you there wasn't any
point in going on that protest march. It didn't change anything did
it? I told her that I would like a little time to think about my answer.
I am still thinking. Any suggestions?
TUESDAY MARCH 25
The influence of Uranus
Uranus has long been associated with chaos and upheaval. It often heralds
the 'release' into our world of some new force that is powerful yet
hard to control. Sometimes, this is a technology. Sometimes it is an
attitude or a philosophy. Always though, the world learns an important
lesson from the way it responds to the influence of this planet. And
after that, things are never quite the same again.
WEDNESDAY MARCH 26
Uranus and important lessons
Whenever Uranus is having a strong influence, people start to see the
world in a new light. They develop a much greater appetite for change.
Never before have we watched conflict from such shockingly close quarters
while hearing so many deep differences in opinion. These make it harder
for us to draw the usual cheap yet comforting distinctions between 'goodies'
and 'baddies'. Important lessons are being learned. Consciousness is
rising, around the globe. Slowly.
THURSDAY MARCH 27
The cost of the war
When the
Comic Relief charity telethon was on TV, my kids and I phoned in a donation.
We were delighted to hear that the appeal made 35 million. Happily
we sat and imagined how many needy people that would help. Then we heard
that it is costing 53 BILLION to drop all those bombs. And we felt
a bid sad...
FRIDAY MARCH 28
Golden age poem
Although
this is a year of fear,
I really must be very clear.
That does not mean the end is near.
Like many a prophet, seer and sage
I prophesise a golden age.
Just one more turn of history's page.
